BALLETX

BalletX, Philadelphia’s premier contemporary ballet, whose dancers were named “among America’s best” by The New York Times, commissions choreographers from around the world to create dance that is “fresh, inclusive, and connects to what people want” (Philadelphia Citizen) while “positioning Philadelphia on the cutting edge of contemporary ballet” (The Dance Journal).

When Barbara Weisberger founded Pennsylvania Ballet in 1963, it was her dream, fostered and encouraged by the great George Balanchine, to not only bring the best in dance to Pennsylvania but to find local talent and develop those artists into world-class performers.

SWING & BLUES

LaB’s mission is to create a friendly, dynamic, inspiring environment in Philadelphia for people to learn and practice Lindy Hop and blues dance. Founded in January, 2007, LaB is an all-volunteer organization. All funds gleaned from LaB go towards improving the dance community in Philadelphia
