Tuesday, September 27th, 2011At this point in my career I’ve been to almost 300 weddings. Basically, I’ve seen it all and it’s rare that I witness something out of the ordinary. When I do, it’s usually a subtlety which is exactly what happened on Saturday. The officiant has known Tom (the groom) since he was a little boy. He was one of Tom’s teachers at Malvern Prep and as time went on they grew closer. For Tom, there was no other consideration of who would perform the wedding ceremony. So many of the officiants I see seem as if they’re just going through the motions but this guy was happy and energetic. You could tell how proud he was to be a part of their day. It was so genuine and nice to see.

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011Susan and Matt decided they wanted to have their engagement session at Swarthmore College. I’d never been there before so I was excited to shoot at a new location. As it turns out Swarthmore is basically a photographers dream. There’s a great blend of architectural and natural elements. Plus, the campus is surprisingly massive with tons of space to explore.
